Introduction

There are a few basic enemy types in Arcuz, which will be introduced in detail here. Data found by parsing the game's Actionscript code. Sprites are not screenshots. They are in fact taken from a base image and matrix-transformed according to the game's code using Paint.NET. "Screened" (semi-transparent) sprites were also created in Paint.NET. "Hardlit" sprites were created using GIMP. Hardlight is somewhat of a cross between the screen and multiply modes. The reason these were used was because this is what the game itself does. For more information about blending modes, visit Adobe's website here (screen is mode 4, hardlight is mode 14).

For a good example of how the game uses screening, look at the Ghost and lv 29 Wolf. Slimes, on the other hand are hardlit, giving them a slightly different transparency effect.

Types

Listed according to the game's code. There are a total of 2435 enemies in the game in story mode.

Stats (Each monster type has a multiplier, as shown below. They are all rounded down.):

  • Base HP: Level * 100. Enemies have multipliers listed below. e.g. Lv 1 slime has 100 hp.
  • Base Def: Level * 15 - 6. e.g. Lv 1 slime has 4 def
  • Base Atk [min, max]: [8*level+1, min*(1.2)] rounded down. e.g. Lv 1 slime has [10, 11] atk
  • Base Experience is recursively calculated:
    • a0 = 6
    • an = an-1+(4+[((n-1)/10) rounded down])
    • n from 1 to monster level
    • Penalty happens if monster level < player level:
      • Base exp/(Level difference + 0.5) rounded down.
    • e.g. Lv 1 slime gives 10 exp at lv 1, 6 exp at lv 2, etc.
    • Exp shown below is without penalty.
